The Red Book, by Sera Beak

The Red Book Image  I stumbled across this book while in Penang this week visiting my parents.  My mother has a bigger library of self-help books than the National Library!  I could write a book on all the books she has :)   However,  this one, “The Red Book” by Sera Beak caught my eye because of the resources at the back – I think one of the best summary list of spiritual books I’ve come across.

Beak’s writing is also quite refreshing – written for the younger woman searching for answers, the book is an excellent introduction to those of us new to the whole ‘spiritual’ thing.  What I like is her constant reminder that the spiritual search is an individual one and not based on any doctrine or particular religion.
As a result the book provides a wonderful summary of all the different types and religious beliefs as well as tips on how to make your own individual rituals, prayers, even altars!  It’s fun, funky and the resources at the back are a real bonus to get you going on all things divine.
